Kathryn Tkel

Kathryn Tkel (she/her/hers) is a Helen Hayes nominated actress originally from Northern California. Her work has been seen across the country in both classical and contemporary plays, as well as on screen in the feature film Harriet opposite Cynthia Erivo. In 2022 she originated the role of Jackie Kennedy in the world premiere of Change Agent written and directed by Craig Lucas at Arena Stage in Washington DC. She has worked with Ford’s Theatre, Studio Theatre, Folger Theatre, Woolly Mammoth, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, Round House Theatre, Perseverance Theatre, The San Francisco Playhouse, and others. She holds degrees in Drama and Anthropology from The University of California, Irvine and earned her MFA from The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and twins.
